(Bio-)technology of manufacturing and processing

Nine sub-projects focus on the production of fungal composites. The sub-projects develop a fundamental understanding of the growth of Fomes fomentarius on plant substrates, develop innovative bioreactor systems, and additive manufacturing concepts for the reproducible production of fungal composites, elucidate substrate parameters that determine the properties of fungal composites, and assess substrate availability. The aim is to produce fungal composites in a controlled, standardised, and reproducible manner.
