Sub-project B01 is run by Prof. Claudia Fleck (Material Science & Engineering, TUB). The sub-project addresses the influence of characteristic features of the fungal mycelium and substrate particles on the interfacial properties and in turn on the composites‘ mechanical performance.
Achieving defined property combinations by hierarchical structuring and combining high mechanical performance during the service life are of prime interest. The sub-project aims further at developing time- and material-saving testing methods to predict the composite mechanical properties.
Sub-project B01 is carried out in close collaboration with A04, B02 – B03, C02, and provides data on mechanical properties to A01 – A07.
