Science Communication Project (SC)

Acceptance and participation research

The project Science Communication (SC) is run by experts on social participation, consumer research, and science communication (Prof. Hans-Liudger Dienel, Chair Work, Technology, Participation; Prof. Nina Langen, Chair Education for Sustainable Nutrition and Food Science). The SC project frames material innovation from ecological, economic, and socio-cultural perspectives, considering future users‘ specific needs and experiences.

With various formats and methods, public outreach is broadly spanned between vision (through artistic, speculative formats), participation and material experiences (citizens‘ assemblies, acceptance research) and dissemination of research findings (exhibition). Individuals and stakeholders from society, science, and industry are involved in jointly developing future scenarios and exploring applications within the citizen science framework. The aim is to pool the expertise and knowledge of different stakeholders and disciplines in an open, supportive manner to incorporate solutions with society.

The SC project is carried out in close collaboration with all sub-projects from Project Areas A, B, and C.
